Meet Emily

Just a few things about myself...

I grew up in the town of Fergus Falls, MN as the second oldest child in a family of six.

I absolutely love playing and listening to music. Throughout my middle and high school years I was heavily involved in choir and orchestra. Along with the regular school-organized activities, I participated in chamber orchestra, chamber choir and played in the pit orchestra for community musicals.

I have always had a love for teaching and helping others, and I was very blessed to have had jobs that gave me the opportunity to do so. I taught swimming lessons and violin lessons for about 5 years. While in Brookings, I took a job as a Direct Support Professional for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These experiences have helped me to develop a passion for people and helping them grow in their skills and knowledge.

I have many hobbies, but almost all of them are related to being creative. I love photography, crocheting, sewing, painting, and typography. I have also taken an interest in coding and designing websites and hope to continue to improve. Along with being creative, I love enjoying the creativity of others! I especially love to read books and can never seem enough time to do so.

This summer I married Kenny, my high school sweetheart of four years! It was a beautiful day and I am so grateful for the love and support that he gives unconditionally. We are very excited to see what our future holds together.
